Exciting new talent Chillhum has released his latest single ‘Waste My Time’, alongside vocalist Devyn Sawyer. His bright, and beautifully produced, acoustic guitar makes up most of the accompaniment, but airy synth notes and gritty basslines add twists and turns to the texture. Chillhum himself has an impressive voice with which he provides addictive harmonies in the chorus and second verse. He explains that he was “inspired by all the recent acoustic-electronic hybrid songs I had been hearing lately so I programmed an upbeat catchy drum pattern, picked up the acoustic guitar (as is one of my absolute favourite ways to write) and began to come up with some strumming patterns that fit the groove of the drums. This is a super simple instrumental but it really is all about the groove between the acoustic guitar and the drums.” This track sets the tone for his exciting upcoming EP. -Dan Peeke
